How I built this site

wordpressEducation is my job. E-learning is my hobby. Sharing knowledge is my passion. Honestly, I practically write course material every day. Therefore, I want to share how I made this website/blog. Sharing is caring. First things first: I choose to use WordPress because to my opinion it’s the most advanced blog. It’s possible to change its layout, to expand with plugins and even import content from other blogs. Let’s take a look how to install and start with WordPress.

1/ Install WordPress

There are two options:

- create an account at https://signup.wordpress.com/signup

- download wordpress at http://wordpress.org/ and publish it at your own webspace (eg siteground.com, versio.be, etc).

I choose the second option. More info: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgu-Z4psiBA

2/ Choose and install a theme

You need to choose a (free) theme. Please search for a responsive template, which makes sure your site looks also ok on mobile devices. Eg: http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/search.php?q=responsive

5/ Start writing: add new posts (homepage) and pages

Oh… one more thing! You want to switch from Blogger or Tumblr to WordPress? That’s possible by going to your Dashboard and clicking on Tools > Import.

Good luck!
