Am I innovative? Part II

Four years ago, my school decided to start with distance learning. The reason was the fact our government gives grants to schools who embrace this kind of education. Four teachers webdesign had to teach via web conferencing (blended learning: 50% distance learning – 50% f2f). At that time, we were the first school and teachers of the country who did this. Although we got some training, we all had to figure out ourselves how to teach using Cisco Webex. The credits go to the school for being innovative, but I think the teachers and I who were pioneers in this new kind of education, can be called somehow innovative. Using the whiteboard in my lessons

Distance learning and I… we are thick as thieves.¬†I teach and get lessons by web conferencing. I’m teacher and student at the same time. Interesting situation. During the first session IC1, we used the whiteboard, what was an eye opener for me. Time for a little experiment.

Today I teached my class of webdesigners. It was a marathon lesson of eight hours (!) so I decided to try something new, to be (a very little) innovative. For the first time, I decided to use the whiteboard and annotation tools. I used it two times in combination with the microphone and chat.
